Plug-and-Play is a well-known concept for storage devices and printers. Without much effort, those devices can seamlessly communicate with a workstation by accessing relevant APIs. In this project, the concept of plug-and-play will be transferred to open and dynamically evolving IoT Systems. Therefore, you will evaluate and extend state-of-the-art software engineering processes for IoT Systems.
The MTP will be organized by the Institute for Enterprise Systems (InES, www.institute-for-enterprise-systems.de) in cooperation with the Babeş-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca (Romania). The MTP will be supervised by Prof. Dr. Heiner Stuckenschmidt and Dr. Christian Bartelt.
The subject matter of the cooperative Master Team Project between students of the Babes-Bolyai University and the University of Mannheim will be the implementation of a software prototype (e.g. Microservice) which is able to integrate IoT Services and IoT Platforms. At the end of the project, the digital assistant will be able to automatically book/order/compose/schedule … *insert your favourite activity here*.

Students who would like to participate in the MTP are required to have programming experience in Java or another programming language, and in version control systems (e.g., Git). Desirable skills are an open-minded character, outstanding teamwork abilities, and great communication skills. This project is a great opportunity to refine these skills, make experiences in an international software development context, and of course, have a lot of fun!
